Welcome

Beyond Silver & Gold

The following words were spoken by a man named Peter around 2000 years ago... a man who had a vision and expectation that took him way beyond worldly wealth....

"Silver and gold I do not have,

but what I have I give you!"

The words were addressed to a man who had no money, no job,
and no ability to provide for himself because he could not walk.

What was it that Peter gifted to this man?

Well, first, he gained the man's attention, and then he spoke words of faith:

"In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, WALK!"

It was the ability to walk that was given to this man crippled from birth.  The man excitedly went from the temple gate in Jerusalem where he had been left to beg, and now he was jumping about, yes, jumping about!  inside the temple courts. Walking and jumping and praising God. Wow!  What a transformation.

I think he was probably frosted and sparkling in the glory of his very own "silver-and-gold-experience" that was being showered on him from heaven.

This New Testament real story has been rattling around in my mind for some months, and so, here I am on the eve of a new year with a desire to share with you something of my "silver-and-gold-experience" - my treasure of life and faith, family and hobbies, my past and present, and the hope of a greater degree of self-sufficiency through both home gardening and through trusting in God's timely care and provision.

Thank you for reading my blog.

May each one of us be left sparkling in the glory of God's heavenly gifts as we live out this New Year with expectancy and excitement.
To God be the glory!
