The following words were spoken by a man named Peter around 2000
years ago... a man who had a vision and expectation that took him way
beyond worldly wealth....
"Silver
and gold I do not have,
but what I have I give you!"
The
words were addressed to a man who had no money, no job,
and
no ability to provide for himself because he could not walk.
What was it that Peter gifted to this man?
Well, first, he gained the man's attention, and then he spoke words of faith:
"In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth ,
WALK!"
It was the ability to walk that was given to this man crippled from birth. The man excitedly went from the temple gate in
I
think he was probably frosted and sparkling in the glory of his very own "silver-and-gold-experience" that was being showered on him
from heaven.
This New Testament real story has been rattling around in my mind for some months, and so, here I am on the eve of a new year with a desire to share with you something of my "silver-and-gold-experience".
Now, what does my garden have to do with silver-and-gold? Well, to me, my garden is my treasure; it holds within it my hope of a greater degree of self-sufficiency; it is a place where I can think and not feel pressured - it does not even pressure me to tidy it up!; it is a place where our grand-children play; it is the place that constantly amazes me with its very own ability for renewal, rebirth and survival; it is a place where I never seem to take my worries or concerns, not by any intent - I just don't seem to take negativity into the garden. My garden is the living space that is teaching me to stand on my own two feet in a culture where it is all too easy to be suffering from depression, ill health and a lack of knowing a Heavenly Father who clothes the grass of the field and who will also feed and clothe us if we learn to trust Him. Yes, I am wanting to share with my readers my very own "silver-and-gold-experience" that is being showered on me from heaven as I live in our suburban home and as I garden the patch of earth that surrounds our home.
Thank you for reading my blog.
May
each one of us be left sparkling in the glory of God's heavenly gifts as we
live out this New Year with expectancy and excitement.
To God be the glory!
To God be the glory!
